This release contains the complete score by the Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone and conducted by Bruno Nicolai for Carlo Lizzani's"Mussolini ultimo atto" (aka Mussolini, the last four days) (1974). Morricone wonderfully describes Benito Mussolini's last days, creating a wise balance between the recurrent slow and heroic tonal march "Ultimo atto", several atonal music passages and others, mysterious and almost minimalistic, where electronic tonalities are mixed to represent the scary atmosphere of those dark days.
