Cinevox Record proudly presents , for the first time ever on CD, the OST of "Il Marchese del Grillo" by Nicola Piovani (oscar prize winner for Roberto Benigni La vita è bella / Life is beautiful). For this CD we used the stereo master of the original recording, made on December 10th 1981, in Trafalgar Studios in Rome, with the sound engineer Giorgio Agazzi. Besides the original album, we could include extra material, never released before: alternative takes of the main themes and rare takes, like film version of the track "Morto un papa" (Tr.18). The OST is based on two main themes: "Mia cara Olimpia" (Tr.1) and "Gasperino", a folk-like theme with a baroque touch, (Tr.2). "Il Teatro di Alibert: La cintura di Venere" (Tr.6) is, instead, a charming travel through the lyric theatre. We can't forget the Italian actor Alberto Sordi singing "Mia cara Olimpia" (Tr.8). An OST that deserved to be rediscovered, 27 years after its release.
